Lil Wayne fundraiser for PHYS ED....read more

I remember high school dances and how fun it was. Everyone was just nuts and having a good time. Well I think phys ed department should have a fundraiser dance or just like a crazy party in the arc or something. They could set up a big stage at one end for the DJ and turn off lights and have like the strobe lights and all the club lights. Then Lil Wayne and Kany West would appear out of no where and the place would go completely insane. I just think this would be the ultimate party ever and everyone would enjoy the night "grinding" away. Sorry I had this vision in my head and so thats what I wrote.

Never take 20 credits...its not good for your health

Headaches. Migranes. Screaming. Blurred vision. Depression. Stress. Memory loss. These are just some of the words that describe how I am now feeling and some of the symptoms that I am starting to notice. I think Tech PETE alone would probably be enough. If I knew how many assignments we would have in there, I would just become a part-time student and just take 3 credits. But noooo, I thought I would challenge myself this semester and it has just turned into chaos. I am taking 17 credits here and 3 credits at CCAC right now. I really do not even know where to start on projects. Some days, I just want to drop out of school and flip burgers at McDonalds for the rest of my life. It seems like the only option. I'd rather take 6 years to finish and take 12 credits per semester. I mean you only live once right? So why rush school, relax and have fun...that's my outlook for my upcoming semesters. Oh , Happy st. Patrick's day by the way.

Slippery Rock Branch Campus?

So I was thinking that Slippery Rock should expand...how does everyone else feel about it. I just solved the crisis on weather. Slippery Rock should open branch campuses in Miami, Las Vegas, North Carolina, and I don't know lets say Cancun, Mexico. Not only would Slippery Rock University become the mega-university in the country, students would benefit because of the diverse setting. Not only the nice weather, but also chances to learn different cultures of the United States. I personally think this is a great idea. Carnegie Mellon has branches all over the world, so why not The Rock. The only bad thing is that the orignal Slippery Rock Pennsylvania would probably become a wasteland because of the other amazing locations. I honestly probably wouldn't even come home on breaks, my family would come and visit me! I would look forward to going to class and then hitting the beach after for an early evening run along the water as the sunset sparkles across the water. Then maybe go out with some friends down the strip of Vegas or Miami instead of going down Main Street to Sheetz. After finishing my portfolio, I could relax in the lazy river or wavepool at Mandalay Bay instead of starting the next up and coming project in Tech PETE to further my stress and depression. Instead of eating at the Flu and Boozel, I could eat at amazing seafood 5 star restaurants that are open for more than just lunch 11-2pm ...while watching the waves pound against beach. Lastly, there would probably be more parking too because Slippery Rock still cannot figure out to just build a freaking parking garage for residence parking because some people never move their cars....Just a thought....

Semester coming to an end...

As we just passed Spring break, I have come to realize that I have absolutely no motivation or energy left to put into classes. I stared at my computer for two hours today just trying to think of everything I had to do in the next couple of weeks. Having nothing to worry about over Spring break was like a week at a glance of this upcoming Summer break, which is extremely long this year. I look at pictures like these and wish I was there, and not here in Slippery Rock. It is so hard to stay focused and concentrated on classes in the Spring. I don't know if it is me, it just seems like Spring semester is so much harder than Fall because I get so anxious for having 3 months off or almost 4. It is also upsetting that we do not get any type of short break for Easter, luckily I live within an hour from Slippery Rock. Maybe it's just me, but I feel so drained at this point in the semester.

Fabulous PETE Faculty

Here at The Rock, our Physical Education department faculty is probably the best in the country. Any phys ed class I have taken, I have liked and it is not just because I like phys ed. I really appreciate that everyone gets to know you more than other professors I had from liberal studies. The faculty really cares about our future and the future of physical education. They put 110% in every day to help us learn the field better. Not only are they the most knowledgable, but also have a sense of humor. I am really happy I picked Slippery Rock because so far its been an enjoyable ride.

Efolio Crisis

Last Thursday, around 3:30, I started hearing sighs and crying from room 119. A dark cloud started circling around the Field House as Efolio was mentioned by Dr. Leight. After the one hour presentation by Dr. Leight, most students had the "deer in the headlights" look on their face, including mine. However, I do think this project will be quite beneficial and exciting to say the least. But just not knowing where to start is what startled me. This spring break, I will not be going to Cancun, Orlando, Miami, Hawaii, or anywhere else that is "fun" and "relaxing". I will be stuck at home scanning papers and documents for EFOLIO. Good luck :)
